Xin Hai Chinese Massage - Amsterdam

I was sceptical about this place. I only tried it because it was a strong recommendation from the owner of Beet. The massage itself was exceptionally good. Perhaps the best I have had in NL. Upon entrance I was relieved to see 2 female clients, clearly they felt safe there. And the areas are separated by curtains that are open above and below + you can hear people talk. This immediately took away my worry that they would offer something I didn't want. While some reviewers complain about the lack of privacy and lack of silence, the chatter really isn't that much (it's also a bit funny).and there is just enough privacy to undress and get a proper massage, nothing else. It's Also the same in many traditional places China and South-East Asia, so at least the exp is authentic. I felt comfortable and very relaxed during and after the massage. Compared to 4 other high class massage studios I went to, my conclusion is that none of them are worth the premium price (often 50-100% more) you pay for a so-called 'experience'. Especially if you want your massage to be slightly more firm instead of just rubbing oil in your skin.

Nice and cheap place to get a massage. You can tell the ladies are experienced in what they do. Although the atmosphere is not really relaxing (they speak while massaging) i find the experience more similar to physiotherapy. The massage can be a little painful sometimes but it relieves the muscle from tension which i find extremely useful. The cost is really cheap for the delivered quality which makes it a great deal to recover from high intensity workouts. The ladies don't speak English but they use Google translate so there is no problem with communication.
